The Teens' Top Ten is a "teen choice" list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year! Nominators are members of teen book groups in fifteen school and public libraries around the country. Nominations are posted on the Thursday of National Library Week, and teens across the country vote on their favorite titles each year. Readers ages twelve to eighteen will vote online between August 15 - October 15 here on the Teens' Top Ten site. The winners will be announced the following week after.
Libraries have long reflected the communities they serve. Responding to the fastest growing population in the United States, libraries across the country work to meet the need of their Latino populations. Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 marks National Hispanic Heritage Month, which celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. This year, National Hispanic Heritage Month will celebrate with the theme, “Many Backgrounds, Many Stories…One American Spirit.”
