Loan Length and Fines

Borrowers Information

Books, magazines, and audiobooks check out for 3 weeks. Videos check out for 7 days with a limit of 5 titles per family and must be checked out on an adult card. Materials may be renewed one time unless restricted by demand, and should be renewed by calling 972-227-1080 or through your Koha account.

When the library is closed materials may be returned in the outside drops on the south side of the building.

The library is not responsible for any damage to audio, video, or computer equipment resulting from the use of library material.

A patron is responsible for all materials borrowed on his card and any fines incurred until that card has been officially recorded as lost or stolen.

The library, in accordance with the Library Bill of Rights, does not restrict the use of materials except as stated. Responsibility for a child's reading, listening , or viewing choice lies with the parents or guardians.

Services available on the internet include online databases and Your Record including a list of materials you have checked out, list of materials on hold and ability to renew material.


Late charges are accrued daily, including holidays and closed days. A fine will not exceed the replacement cost of the material. Fines are charged as follows:

Books, audiocassette titles, magazines $ .25 per day
Videos $1.00 per day
Interlibrary loans $1.00 per day
Special Reference loans $1.00 per day
Fee for replacement of a lost card $2.00

Charge for lost or damaged material will be the replacement cost of the material plus a $5.00 reprocessing fee. Charges for lost or damaged material are non refundable.

Outstanding fines or overdue materials may result in loss of borrowing privileges.
