Lancaster Power Switch

Looking for a fair and competitive electric rate? Join the Lancaster Power Switch!

Your electric bill may be one of your the biggest monthly expenses. A lower fixed rate can help reduce your bills year round. The City of Lancaster is committed to helping you save on your electric bills, which is why we launched the Lancaster Power Switch.

We’ll form a group together with many other Lancaster residents and organize an electricity auction among electricity providers. Previous auctions resulted in an average yearly savings of $400 per household.

After the auction, we’ll send every registrant a Personal Offer, letting you know how much you could save with the winning rate. After you receive your Personal Offer, it is completely up to you to decide if you want to accept it or not. There is no obligation.

Register at before April 15, 2019.  It’s totally free, easy to do and will only take you 5 minutes.  Have a recent utility bill handy so you can reference your usage.

Please note: Households in areas served by a member-owned electricity cooperative or a municipal-owned utility are not eligible to participate. Also, there is no cost to the city to offer this service, nor does the city receive any financial benefit.
