Bear Creek Nature Park opened in November of 2006 providing fishing, hiking and horse trails, nature study areas, and a picnic pavilion to the public. In 2008, a full time Naturalist was hired and the commitment to educate the community about the plants and animals that live in the area and their importance to the environment and the community was underway.
