Neighborhood Services Division is a combined division of Code Enforcement Officers and Animal Control Officers. Neighborhood Services Division, which is comprised of highly specialized and trained professionals, enforces regulations pertaining to a variety of City Codes, including health and safety, unsightly nuisances and vehicle nuisances. Each of the field officers are licensed Code Enforcement Officers for the State of Texas as well as Animal Control Officers. Our Division has one Commercial/Retail Code Enforcement Officer and a Division Manager. The Division has 36 years of combined experience in Animal Control and Code Enforcement.

Neighborhood Services Division serves to promote and ensure the protection of public health by controlling animal populations and related diseases through public education and enforcement of state and local laws. Neighborhood Services Division is responsible for the capture and housing of animals found at large or abandoned; enforcing city ordinances and State health laws that pertain to the ownership, inoculation, housing and care of animals within the city. This Division is responsible for all operations at Animal Shelter including the daily care of the animals housed in the shelter, adoptions, redemptions, and pet surrenders.

Programs: Spring & Fall Annual Trash-Off Events. In April and September of each year the City of Lancaster hosts an event for residents to bring bulk trash, limbs, brush, metal, tires and batteries to specified locations for free disposal.

Low Cost Animal Vaccinations: There will be two yearly low cost vaccination clinics for residents of Lancaster to bring there dogs and cats to the Animal Shelter for rabies shots as well as a number of other vaccinations and educational materials.
