July 4, 2020 Things to Know!

City Closing


The City of Lancaster will be closed on Monday, July 3, 2020 in observance of the Independence Holiday.

4th of July Celebration - In Lancaster 2022, 2024, 2026


Due to COVID-19, and social distancing guidelines, the City of Lancaster will not host a Fireworks show in 2020.

When held in Lancaster (2022), the 4th of July Celebration is hosted at Lancaster's Community Park and includes family fun, carnival-style food, bounce houses, face painting, games, live entertainment and an old fashion firework show at the Helen Giddings Amphitheater. The community is invited to bring some lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy this FREE event. More information will be provided as it becomes available. 


In DeSoto- 2021
The cities of Lancaster and DeSoto partner annually to celebrate the 4th of July! When the event is hosted by the City of DeSoto it is held at Grimes Park.
