About Parks & Recreation Athletics
The Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department has many athletic opportunities for youth and adults in Lancaster and surrounding communities. Programs include baseball, basketball, soccer, softball and football; along with tournaments in various sports. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate.
Winter Basketball League
The City of Lancaster and Metro Basketball Association presents the 2017 Winter Basketball League. Youth attending Lancaster ISD Elementary will have a chance to represent their school by participating on a team with their classmates. Ages are 4U, 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U: Registration is now closed.
Registration is October 9, 2017 - December 16, 2017
Registration Fee: $35 per player / $300 per team.
Handles and Hoops Holiday Basketball Camp (Ages 5-13)
Are you ready to take your game to the next level? The Handles and Hoops basketball camp will give you the key skills to take your game to the next level. The camp will focus on the basics skills of dribbling, shooting, defending, and rebounding.

Lancaster Soccer League
The City of Lancaster is proud to offer our NEW soccer league in partnership with Challenger Sports. Professional coaches from the Challenger Soccer Academy will teach players the fundamental skills they need to take their game to the next level within a development league concept here in Lancaster. The league will run for 6 weeks in spring, throughout the months of March and April, 2017. All players will receive 6 practices from Challenger Sports professional coaches on Thursday evenings within their respective age division. This is a co-ed league suitable for boys and girls of all ability levels aged 3 – 14yrs. There will be voluntary coaching positions available for all teams in each age division. Challenger Sports will be holding a free NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) coaching clinic in the run up to the spring season for all parents coaches interested. Volunteer coaches will be welcome to hold additional practices to the Thursday skills practice delivered by Challenger Sports coaches. All teams will participate in 6 games to be held on Saturday/Sunday afternoons at the soccer fields.
Practice Dates: Tuesdays, March 27th – May 1, 2018 (6 Weeks)
Registration January 1, 2018 - March 4, 2018
Game Dates: Weekends of March 31st – May 1, 2018 (6 Weeks)
Rainout Information: Any rained out practices or games will be made up using an additional week.

Youth RBI Baseball League
The Youth Baseball League is open to boys and girls ages 4-14. It teaches the basics of baseball and improves skill in specific areas such as pitching, catching, and hitting.
Registration for the season will begin in January. Uniform is not included in the cost of registration ($85). Register in person at the Lancaster Recreation Center on Saturdays from 10 am-12 noon; bring a copy of the child's birth certificate at time of registration. We are always looking for volunteer youth coaches to work with the children in our community! Make a difference in the lives of our youth by signing up to coach a youth baseball, soccer or basketball team. Experience with the sport is helpful, but not necessary. All volunteers must pass a criminal background check.
