About the Purchasing Division
The Purchasing Division is responsible for overseeing the purchase of all supplies and services within the city.
The city has a centralized purchasing policy. The goal of the
purchasing agent is to provide assistance to departments for securing
materials and services in the most efficient and economical way that
adheres to all related Texas purchasing statutes and the internal
Achievement in Excellence Award The National Procurement Institute established a program in 1995 designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement is awarded annually. This prestigious award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria. The criteria are designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement and leadership attributes of the procurement organization. The City of Lancaster is a 2014 recipient of this award.
