About the Planning Division
The Planning Division helps ensure that the community develops in a safe, efficient, and attractive manner and strives to achieve quality developments that enhance the quality of life for our citizens.

Division Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
  • Administration of the Comprehensive Plan, subdivision regulations, and the Development Code
  • Processing of all zoning, specific use permit, site plan, variance, and platting requests and recommending these requests to the City Council
  • Providing of zoning information to the general public, business owners, and developers

Impact Fee Reports
Click the links below to view a copy of the Roadway Impact Fee Update or the Water and Wastewater Impact Fee Report. The items were approved by the City Council on July 23, 2012. The Council voted to adopt the new land use assumptions for each report at the meeting.

Special Overlay District - April 3, 2012 Tornado Damaged Area
The City of Lancaster will be proposing a special overlay district for those areas that sustained severe damage during the April 3, 2012 tornado. This special overlay district will allow property owners in those areas needing to re-build their homes the ability to build them back as they existed before being damaged and not subjected to requirements that have been adopted since their original construction such as, increased square footage, greater side yard setbacks, and specific building materials.
